Contact support

Send your question with our contact form, or email info@controlstrainer.com. Include the lesson name, page address, browser, what you expected, and what happened. For account or payment issues, include your account email and receipt reference.

Keep your message safe to share. Never include your password, full payment-card number, or confidential employer information. Remove unrelated personal information from screenshots.

Getting started

Where do I start?

Open the training homepage and choose a lesson. Follow the instructions and checks within that lesson. Levels 1 and 2 are free, and you can start them without an account; sign in to save your completion and receive a certificate. Levels 3–10 need Full Access, which comes with a seat on a company plan. If you bought Full Access for your own account before company plans were introduced, that purchase still applies.

Do I need physical PLC hardware?

The training exercises run in your browser. They let you practice the scenarios provided by the platform without connecting to real machinery. Simulator behavior does not replace manufacturer documentation for physical equipment.

What device should I use?

A desktop or laptop with a larger screen and a mouse is helpful for wiring boards and editors. If a control is hard to reach, maximize the browser and return zoom to 100%. Some detailed exercises may be difficult on a small touch screen.

Account & purchased access

How do I sign in?

Use the Log In page with the email used to create your account. If you need an account, open Create Account.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Open the password reset page (it is also the “Forgot your password?” link on the Log In page). Enter the email address you use for ControlsTrainer, and we will email you a link to choose a new password.

If the email does not arrive, check your spam or junk folder first. If it still does not arrive, or you can no longer use that address, contact support and explain that you need account recovery help. Support may need to verify account ownership before assisting. Never send your password.

I paid, but a lesson is still locked. What should I do?

Make sure you are signed in to the same account used for checkout, then check My Training. If access is still missing, send support your account email and receipt reference. Avoid paying again while the first payment is being investigated.

Where can I ask about a charge or refund?

Email support with your account email, receipt reference, and a description of the issue. The terms shown at purchase and any applicable consumer rights govern your purchase; submitting a request is not a promise of a refund.

Progress & certificates

Is my progress saved?

Saving behavior varies by lesson. Some exercise state is stored in your browser, and supported progress and completion records are associated with your account. Check the lesson’s save controls and My Training. Do not assume every change has been saved automatically.

Why is my work missing on another device?

Browser-stored work does not automatically travel to another browser or device. Sign in to the same account to see supported account-based records. If work is missing, keep the original browser data intact and contact support with the lesson and device details.

How do I find a completion certificate?

Finish the lesson’s required checks and use its completion or certificate link. Check My Training for recorded completions. If a completed lesson has no certificate link, contact support with the lesson name and the result you saw.

Is a certificate an accredited qualification?

No. A platform certificate records completion of a training activity. It does not replace professional licensing, employer-required training, or an accredited qualification. See Standards & Compliance.

Troubleshooting

A page or exercise is not working. What should I try?

First save or export work if the lesson offers that option. Check your connection and whether you are still signed in. Reload the page, or test the page in an updated browser. If the issue continues, send support the page address, browser version, and steps that reproduce it.

Should I clear my browser data?

Avoid clearing cookies or site storage as your first troubleshooting step: it can sign you out and remove locally saved work. Contact support first if you are unsure which data holds your training progress.

Why does a wiring or logic check fail?

Read the check’s feedback and compare the required terminals, device labels, signal assignments, and sequence with the lesson instructions. A visually similar connection may not use the required endpoint. If the feedback appears inconsistent, send a screenshot and the exact steps.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Send support the lesson or page, expected result, actual result, and reproduction steps. A screenshot can help. Feature suggestions are welcome, but a request does not establish a release date or commitment.

Privacy & safety

How do I request a correction or account deletion?

Contact support from your account email and describe the request. Identity verification may be needed. Ask how deletion affects your progress and purchased access before proceeding. See the Privacy Policy for more information.

Can I use the simulator’s result to approve real equipment?

No. Real installations require appropriate qualified review, manufacturer guidance, workplace procedures, and applicable inspections. The simulator provides educational practice and does not certify the safety or compliance of machinery.
