Using ControlsTrainer
These terms apply to your use of controlstrainer.com, operated by John Clore. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.
Educational use & safety
ControlsTrainer provides simulations and educational material for industrial automation practice. A successful exercise or certificate records training activity within the platform; it does not establish professional licensure, accreditation, employer authorization, or the compliance of real equipment.
Training does not replace required workplace safety instruction, hazardous-energy control procedures, engineering review, or inspection. See Standards & Compliance for more context.
Accounts & access
Provide accurate account information, protect your sign-in credentials, and use only accounts and access you are authorized to use. Notify support if you suspect someone else is using your account. Do not share credentials to give others access outside the scope of a purchase.
You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. If you use the service for an organization, ensure you have authority for any commitments you make on its behalf.
Purchases & billing
Review the price, included access, and payment conditions shown on the purchase page and checkout before paying. Those purchase-specific representations apply to your purchase. Stripe processes checkout payments.
If a payment succeeds but access is unavailable, or if you have a billing or refund request, contact us through the contact form or at info@controlstrainer.com, with your account email and receipt reference. Do not send card details. Any applicable purchase-specific refund terms and mandatory consumer rights remain in effect.
These terms do not reduce access commitments already made for an existing purchase.
Acceptable use
- Use the service for lawful, authorized learning and training.
- Do not bypass access controls, interfere with other users, overload the service, or attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems.
- Do not introduce malicious code, exploit vulnerabilities, or collect other users’ information without authorization.
- Do not falsify completion records or present a platform certificate as a professional license or independent accreditation.
If you discover a problem, report it through Support without accessing other users’ data.
Training materials & your work
Site text, software, graphics, exercises, and other materials remain subject to their owners’ intellectual-property rights. Access to training does not transfer ownership or permission to resell or republish the platform. Use the materials within the learning features and access provided to you, except where applicable law or separate written permission allows more.
You may use certificates and exports made available by the platform for their intended purposes, including keeping a personal training record. Do not alter them to misrepresent a result. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners and do not by themselves imply endorsement.
Availability & changes
Features may be updated, and access may be interrupted for maintenance, technical problems, or security needs. Keep copies of work or certificates where export is available. No uninterrupted availability or particular educational, employment, or business outcome is guaranteed.
Access may be restricted when reasonably necessary to address misuse, security threats, or legal requirements, subject to applicable law and existing purchase obligations.
Responsibility & applicable rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the educational service is provided as available without a guarantee that every simulation or item of content is complete, error-free, or suitable for a specific real-world application. You must independently verify information before applying it to real equipment.
Nothing in these terms excludes warranties, remedies, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits mandatory consumer rights. Rights and remedies depend on the law applicable to your circumstances.

Changes remain subject to applicable notice requirements and do not retroactively remove rights attached to an existing purchase.
